Kitchen Blues II

They say I should slow down.
But try and tell these practiced hands
its time to stop when they’ve perfected
their technique. Just look how one hand
pumps the knife so fast the blade
gives off a lightening flash and how
the other dodges the sharp thrusts
and feeds the steel with fearless will
to speed along and finish off the job
for there was always so much more to do
to cook to clean to care to care to care
Chop chop
Now look at what I’ve gone and done
Again I’ve made too much for one!
